Gladstone
Gladstone is beautifully positioned on the Queensland coast, just over 500km north of Brisbane and 95km south of Rockhampton. The city is positioned between 2 large rivers - the Calliope River above the city and the Boyne River a few kilometres south of Gladstone. These 2 rivers converge at Gladstone Harbour, where the city is located, and the harbour is protected by 2 uninhabited islands - Facing Island and Curtis Island. The Gladstone region includes 14 islands in total and is just a 30 minute drive from the beautiful beaches at Tannum Sands and Boyne Island.

Gladstone has a population of 30,000 and a land area covering 128 square kilometres. There are 14 islands in the Gladstone region not including the huge tourist destinations of Heron Island and Wilson Island. The town slowly grew in population before rapidly expanding after the world's largest Alumina Refinery was built in 1963.
